UA Day is an opportunity to rally local Internet players to spread Universal Acceptance (UA) awareness and to encourage UA adoption. The day will consist of UA training, awareness, and strategy sessions.
UA is a technical requirement that ensures all valid domain names and email addresses, regardless of script, language, or character length, can be equally used by all Internet-enabled applications, devices, and systems.
In other words, UA is a technical compliance best practice that allows people from around the world to effectively use any domain name and any email address in any application for their personal and business use.
The UA day consists of a series of activities promoted by Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) under ICANN.
The purpose is to allow email administrators and users to evaluate their current email systems if it is an Email Address Internationalisation (EAI) compliant as well as raise awareness on further developing a truly multilingual and inclusive Internet for all.
The purpose of the UA day is to enlighten participants on what UA is and its benefits
